Not the coins but the basket, a priest once told me. Only I forgot the reason why and even who he was…I’m havin my senior moments I guess. Come to think of it in one part of the Mass collections are never blest or “sprinkled”.

Yes, it is. As you would expect, a lot of things in the Philippines revolve around various concepts introduced by other cultures along with an older sense of superstition. The same holds true with most societies.
