I originally attempted to post something to my blog – but I just didn’t have anything to say. Now I know why. There was a change a comin’ and I needed to be handed that piece of info before I could sit down and actually have something worthwhile to say. What change, might you ask. Is it good? Is it bad? Pray tell – what could make you resort to such antiquated terms as “pray tell”? Alma bought a can of Spam for this – which I thought was hilarious. Don’t get me wrong, I could have asked for anything, but I let her be frugal since we ended up with over 40 people on our Christmas list (!!) That’s a lot of presents – but fortunately there were five Wednesdays in December, so I had an extra payday to cover all this. It was also Alma’s first Christmas tree (that she actually owned – they had one in Hong Kong where she worked every year for the 16 years she was there). So that was good. The next place that we looked at was rather nice, albeit a tad expensive for the size. It was a bungalow-style dwelling with the owner’s home attached. The owner’s home was nicer. The “agent” and the owner kept pointing out the “maid’s room” (located downstairs), which I found rather odd. Now, I know that a [...] After the wonderful trip to squatterville, the next stop was to another interesting location that the “agent” had in store for us. This one was kind of interesting since the place, itself, was pretty spacious. However, when I mean “spacious”, I mean it in a “former warehouse Manhattan loft apartment” kind of way. Which isn’t [...] I haven’t updated my blog in quite a while. But for good reason. I’ve been putting in a lot of hours on my oDesk assignments and it can be pretty tough coming up with something to say after spending eight or more hours at the computer writing about everything from solar panels to articles of [...] Yesterday, the newly elected president of the Philippines (Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, the son of a former president and an assassinated opposition leader) took a shot at the national weather service, here. Why? Well, how about this. A major typhoon was on its way to this part of the world and a good section of [...] As promised – a photo of our new “baby” – Candice “Candy” Lane Brennan… Today, I’m feeling pretty good since I was able to secure a good night’s sleep and a lot of rest on my usual Wednesday off. This weekend (Saturday) we’re scheduled to have a BIG birthday celebration at my home. In this case, we’re looking at the family celebrating four different birthdays, at once (!) Those [...] Today (6/23/2010) marks my wedding anniversary to the lovely Alma. Somehow, she’s managed to put up with me for two years. Go figure… |
